5hp vs 6hp Tohatsu, what's the difference?
i have a small problem with my outboard motor.it seems to be. water..any one have an idea? it seems fine at lower speeds and in calm water.
I have been looking at the 5hp and 6hp Tohatsu outboards for my 14'. 21 at hull speed, and would plane various inflatables with one person.
Traded up to the 6 hp sail drive Tohatsu because of motors. Faced with a seven knot current and a hull speed of seven knots...there you are.
its a Sea Wizard 2.5M and a 6 hp Mercury outboard. pretty easily and stay there quite happily - maybe get into the mid teens speed wise.

It's always had an 8 hp outboard.. Also, if I can get by with 6HP, do I need to have any concern that the 6's only have a single cylinder?
